CPU resource prediction

Restrictions and guidelines

You can perform a CPU resource prediction after the system runs for two days. To ensure the accuracy of the prediction results, perform the prediction after the system runs for at least 45 days.

Configure the CPU usage alarm threshold

The system generates alarms when the CPU usage reaches the specified threshold.

To configure the CPU usage alarm threshold:

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Compute.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select Resource Navigation > All > Resources.

  3. Click Intelligent Resource Prediction.

  4. On the CPU Resource Prediction tab, click the icon to the right of the CPU Usage Threshold field.

  5. Set the CPU usage alarm threshold.

  6. Click OK.

Configure the CPU overcommit ratio alarm threshold

The system generates alarms when the CPU resource overcommit ratio reaches the specified threshold.

To configure the CPU overcommit ratio alarm threshold:

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Compute.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select Resource Navigation > All > Resources.

  3. Click Intelligent Resource Prediction.

  4. On the CPU Resource Prediction tab, click the icon to the right of the CPU Allocation Alarm Threshold field.

  5. Set the CPU overcommit ratio alarm threshold.

  6. Click OK.

Predict the CPU overcommit ratio alarm time

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Compute.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select Resource Navigation > All > Resources.

  3. Click Intelligent Resource Prediction.

  4. On the CPU Resource Prediction tab, select a start date, and then click Predict.

    As a best practice, do not select a date on which the system is not providing services (for example, deploying services after initialization) as the start date.

View the predicted alarm time

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Compute.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select Resource Navigation > All > Resources.

  3. Click Intelligent Resource Prediction.

  4. On the CPU Resource Prediction tab, view the predicted alarm time.

Parameters
