Configure static routes for a host

Restrictions and guidelines

The gateway for a host must reside on the same subnet as a virtual switch attached to the host. The routes that you configure take effect on that virtual switch. If the gateway is invalid, you cannot configure routes.

Add a static route

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Compute.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select Resource Navigation > All > Resources > Host Pool Name > Host Name or Resource Navigation > All > Resources > Host Pool Name > Cluster Name > Host Name.

  3. Click the Advanced tab.

  4. Click the Route tab.

  5. Click Add Route.

  6. Configure the parameters as described in "Parameters."

  7. Click OK.

Edit a static route

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Compute.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select Resource Navigation > All > Resources > Host Pool Name > Host Name or Resource Navigation > All > Resources > Host Pool Name > Cluster Name > Host Name.

  3. Click the Advanced tab.

  4. Click the Route tab.

  5. Click Edit in the Actions column for the target route.

  6. Configure the parameters as described in "Parameters."

  7. Click OK.

Delete a static route

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Compute.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select Resource Navigation > All > Resources > Host Pool Name > Host Name or Resource Navigation > All > Resources > Host Pool Name > Cluster Name > Host Name.

  3. Click the Advanced tab.

  4. Click the Route tab.

  5. Click Delete in the Actions column for the target route.

  6. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
