Desktop images

A desktop image is a file that contains the operating system, application software, user data, and configuration files. Similar to a VM template, a desktop image can be used to rapidly deploy desktops.

You can publish a desktop image of a Space Console to other Space Consoles.

View desktop images

  1. From the navigation pane, select Desktop Images.

  2. Select a resource from the left resource list.

    The images page displays brief information of all desktop images in the Space Console.

  3. To access the desktop image in the Space Console, click the name of the desktop image.

  4. To view image details and release records, click Details in the Actions column for the desktop image.

Publish a desktop image

  1. From the navigation pane, select Desktop Images.

  2. Select a resource from the left resource list.

  3. Click Publish in the Actions column of a desktop image.

  4. In the dialog box that opens, select a target resource.

  5. Click OK.

  6. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.

Cancel allocation of a desktop image

Perform this task to cancel allocation of a successfully published desktop image.

  1. From the navigation pane, select Desktop Images.

  2. Select a resource from the left resource list.

  3. Click Cancel Allocate in the Actions column for a successfully published desktop image.

  4. Select target resources, and then click OK.

  5. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.

Redeploy a desktop image

Perform this task to redeploy a desktop image that is partially deployed or fails to be deployed.

To redeploy a desktop image:

  1. From the navigation pane, select Desktop Images.

  2. Select a resource from the left resource list.

  3. Click Redeploy in the Actions column for a desktop image that is partially deployed or fails to be deployed.

  4. In the dialog box that opens, select a target resource.

  5. Click OK.

  6. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.

View detailed release records

  1. From the navigation pane, select Desktop Images.

  2. Select a resource from the left resource list.

  3. Click Details in the Actions column for a desktop image.
