Configure a protection group

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Services.

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Disaster Recovery Management > Protection Groups.

  1. Click Add Protection Group.

  1. Select Storage Replication as the disaster recovery type, select the protected and recovery sites, select host pools for the sites, and then click Next.

If you enable auto VM protection, a VM is automatically added to a protection group if it meets the following requirements:

CAS does not protect the backup files and snapshots of the VMs in a protection group. When the VMs are recovered on the recovery site, their backup files and snapshots are deleted.

  1. To add a resource mapping, click Add Storage Mapping Relation, Add vSwitch Mapping Relation, or Add Port Profile Mapping Relation.

When you add a storage mapping, select the storage resources configured in "Prepare the storage environment."

You can use management network or service network vSwitches and select port profiles as needed. You can create mappings between shared file systems or block devices.

  1. Click OK.

  1. Click the protection group name, and then click Add VM.

  1. Select VMs and then click OK.

If you enable auto VM protection, the system displays the VMs that meet the requirements for joining the protection group.
