4 Slot arrangement and interface numbering
Slot arrangement
"RSU" in Table4-1 refers to a routing and switching unit.
Interface numbering
Conventions
RSU
The interfaces on a routing and switching unit are numbered in the interface-type X format. The management port number on the routing and switching unit is M-Ethernet 0.
Where,
· interface-type—Interface type, for example, Console.
· X—Number of the slot where the RSU resides, as shown in Table4-1.
Interface module
The interfaces on an interface module are numbered in the interface-type X/Y/Z format.
Where,
· interface-type—Interface type, for example, GigabitEthernet and Twenty-FiveGigE.
· X—Number of the slot where the interface module resides, as shown in Table4-1.
· Y—The numbers is 0.
· Z—Number of the interface on the interface module. The number starts from 0.
Examples
· If an RSU-300 routing and switching unit is installed in slot 0 of the router, the console port of the RSU-300 is numbered Console 0.
· If an RSU-300 routing and switching unit is installed in slot 1 of the router, the console port of the RSU-300 is numbered Console 1.
· If an HRIC-GP8 module is installed in slot 8 of the router, ports 0 to 7 on the HRIC-GP8 module are numbered GigabitEthernet 8/0/0 to GigabitEthernet 8/0/7, respectively.
