According to our correspondent (Huang Peng), Chengdu Municipality signed education strategic cooperation agreement with H3C Group yesterday. Luo Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee and Mayor of the People’s Government of Chengdu Municipality, and Tony Yu, Co-President of Tsinghua Unigroup and President and CEO of H3C Group, attended the ceremony and co-inaugurate H3C University of Chengdu University.
Liu Xiaoliu, Deputy Mayor of the People’s Government of Chengdu Municipality, delivered a speech. She said that, the founding of H3C University of Chengdu University will fully tap into the respective strength, and enable the building of a new model for fostering talents of future industries. It is not only an innovation of the institution and mechanism of education operation and management, and of the integration model of educational resources, but also a key driver for boosting quality economic development of Chengdu, for improving higher education and vocational skills training system, and for deepening industry-education integration and university-industry cooperation.
In his speech, Tony Yu said that digital economy, underpinned by information, communication and technology, holds a key direction for the future economic development of China. H3C will secure its roots in the digital economy of Chengdu, and leverage the city’s strength in cloud computing, big data, internet security, IoT, and AI. It will push for the education and training of application-oriented hi-tech talents for digital economy, and use top-notch talents as a driver to accelerate the upgrade of traditional industries, and fuel the rise of emerging industries.
It is reported that H3C University of Chengdu University was co-founded by Chengdu Chengtou Education Investment Management Group, Tsinghua Uniudc Co., Ltd and Chengdu University. With a building area of 30 thousand m2, H3C University of Chengdu University will aim to foster hi-tech talents, build a new modern information education system, and work to shape leading hi-tech education of China. It will offer four majors of full-time bachelor degree education, including network engineering, information security, IoT, and others. It is expected to recruit student in this September.
Zhou Xianyi, Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Chengdu Municipality and Secretary of the CPC Shuangliu District Committee, also attended the above-mentioned activities.
