Restrictions and cautions

Restrictions

If no media images are mounted, the KVM window automatically closes when the HDM Web session times out.

Each browser can establish only one session with HDM. If you attempt to establish two concurrent sessions from the same browser with different usernames, the first session will automatically end when the second session is established.

For the new HDM firmware to take effect, restart HDM after update. The system will write the flash memory during the restart.

Upgrade restrictions and guidelines

Make sure the software versions are compatible with each other. For more information, see "Hardware and software compatibility matrix."

As a best practice, back up the configuration before you update the firmware. For more information, see "(Optional) Backing up the current configuration."

To update both HDM and the BIOS, update HDM first.

Make sure the server operates correctly or is powered off during BIOS or HDM update.

During the update, make sure the network connection is available and do not refresh the Webpage.

To avoid HDM or operating system errors, do not power on or power off the server during the firmware update.

After the firmware is updated, delete the browsing history before you re-log in to HDM. For more information, see "Clearing the browser cache."

Symptom: After an offline logical disk member reports the "in failed array" alarm, when creating or deleting a logical disk operation is performed in-band, the disk number in the log that resolves the "in failed array" alarm reported out-of-band is inconsistent with the triggered one.

Condition: When an offline logical disk member reports the "in failed array" alarm, and a creation or deletion operation of a logical disk is performed in-band.

Symptom: After installing the license, the MRT service will not take effect immediately.

Symptom: When you send a configuration subscription request through Redfish, adding a path to the end of the server IP port will cause a request error.

Condition: This symptom might occur if you add a path to the end of the server IP when sending a configuration subscription request through Redfish.

Symptom: For the R4700 G6 server's Trimode configuration, if you first connect four onboard SATA + 4NVME to ensure the Trimode environment displays correctly, and then replace the last four NVME with SATA, the newly replaced SATA drives will report "disk missing" after a period. The DC then also reports "disk missing."

Condition: This symptom might occur if you first configure four onboard SATA+4NVMe and then replace 4NVMe with 4SATA.

Condition: This symptom might occur if the power mode is set to load balancing on the R5500 G6 Intel/R5300 G6 server and a stress test is performed.

Symptom: A mounting path is created on the NFS server of the latest version 1.2.66. However, after the path is mounted to HDM, the system cannot obtain images.
