Following the reengineering of the H3C CAS V7.0 cluster shared file system architecture, it achieves a 75% reduction in metadata volume and memory space occupancy. The optimization of metadata index paths and algorithms reduces data indexing latency by 50%. Compared to thick provisioned eager zeroed, its advantages are mainly reflected in two aspects:

Thin Provisioning supports disk capacity over-provisioning. The thin provisioning mode dynamically allocates disk space, only allocating the storage space needed for actual data when necessary, saving valuable memory space. Thick provisioned eager zeroed does not support this feature.

Significant savings in delivery time. Taking a capacity of 1T as an example, the Thin Provisioning mode can create VMs at "seconds level", while the thick provisioned eager zeroed mode can create VMs at “minutes level”, which effectively improves the efficiency of VM creation and ensures the rapid development of business.
